RUSSELL LEONARD

(PT, DPT, Manager - Patient Quality)

Russell Leonard is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Manager of Patient Quality at Renue Physical Therapy at McLaren Caro Region. He has been practicing physical therapy since 2018 upon his graduation from Central Michigan University.

During his time at Saginaw Valley State University, Russell served as the Vice President for the pre-physical therapy student organization. While at CMU, he served as a volunteer co-chair for the Physical Therapy student organization.

Russell was born and raised in the Great Lakes Bay Region. While in high school he earned the rank of eagle scout, the highest rank awarded by the Boy Scouts of America.

Russell’s mission is to empower his patients to learn and take charge of their own health. This is done through the change of behaviors and beliefs to beat nagging injuries, prevent needless surgery, and recover after surgery without wasting time or relying on pain medications. Russell works with patients to develop an individualized treatment plan which involves mostly education, manual therapy, exercise and modalities as necessary to promote recovery and reduce pain. This plan will include engagement outside the clinic through daily home exercise to improve recovery time and reduce the risk of future injury.

Russell still resides in the Great Lakes Bay Region and remains active through a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
