(Saginaw, MI) – Renue Physical Therapy – Saginaw State Street, a leading provider of outpatient physical therapy services, today announced that it has been awarded the Outstanding Small Business Award from the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to businesses that have demonstrated significant growth, innovative vision, leadership and community involvement.

The clinic has been led by Managing Partner Mel Svorinic, PT, DPT, OMPT since it opened its doors in 2013. Svorinic has helped grow the clinic to Renue’s largest and busiest location while providing exceptional patient care and serving as a mentor and manager of the clinic’s 10 team members. In a five-year span, Svorinic grew referrals to the clinic by 70% from 2017 – 2021.

After achieving a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, Svorinic began practicing physical therapy in 1993 and has been practicing in the US since 1994. He has worked in a variety of settings, primarily outpatient orthopedics, but also in acute care hospital settings and nursing homes. He received his orthopedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) graduate certificate at Oakland University in 2011 and completed his doctorate (DPT) at Oakland University in 2015.

• Valued educator: Svorinic is talented at sharing his extensive knowledge of physical functioning in a way his patients can understand and continue to apply even after their therapy ends. He also shares his knowledge with the community with free seminars and community education throughout the year.
• Natural leader: In addition to his role as owner of Renue’s State Street clinic, Svorinic also serves as Renue Physical Therapy’s executive director of clinical performance, where he continues to help all Renue therapists and clinics raise the bar of performance.
• Caring and professional: Not only do patients report exceptional clinical outcomes with Svorinic and his team, but they emphasize that they felt cared for and encouraged throughout the process.
