Our Team

Roland Leonora is a Physical Therapist and managing partner of Renue Physical Therapy Bay City – West. Roland has been practicing physical therapy since 1988 upon his graduation from the Academy for Physiotherapy in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.

Originally from the Caribbean, Roland moved to the United States in 1991. Since then, he has specialized in treating disorders of the spine. Roland’s 30+ years of clinical experience extends in areas of spinal disorders, general orthopedics, sports medicine, geriatric care, pediatrics, aquatics, TMJ and women’s health. He is proficient in various manual therapy techniques including Stanley Paris, McKenzie, Williams flexion exercises, Myofascial release, Muscle Energy, Maitland Techniques and Kinesio taping. He recently became certified to treat patients with idiopathic scoliosis using the Schroth Method.

With an athletic background, Roland understands the mechanics of sports and uses his training from the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) to rehabilitate injured athletes.

Prior to partnering with Renue Physical Therapy, Roland helped establish Mercy Occupational Medicine, a clinic for treating industrial workers where he performed pre-employment screening for Pepsi and Schwann’s employees. He also managed the rehab department at Mercy hospital in Detroit and Select Specialty hospital in Saginaw.

Roland speaks six languages, including Dutch, French and Spanish, and has worked on three different continents.
